For our Dear Grandad....
The following was read at my grandads funeral:
"Here are a few words of thought I wish to say to Granddad Arthur, not just for myself but also on behalf of all his grandchildren:
******************************************************
As we gather here today,
Just before you down to lay.
We did not get chance of those many words,
How much we loved you, our dear Granddad I say.
It breaks our hearts to lose you,
but you didn't go alone,
Apart of us went with you,
the day god took you home.
A million times we shall miss you
A million times we shall cry.
If love could have saved you
you never would have died.
To the grave we travel,
the flowers are placed with care.
No-one knows the heartache,
as we turn to leave you there.
If tears could build a stairway,
and heartaches could make a lane,
we would walk a path to heaven,
and bring you back again.
******************************************************
Now I am sure my Cousin’s you agree,
You have lots of memories of our Granddad,
Those are special and made you happy.
Not one of mine I remember was sad.
Do you remember Granddad, the stories you once said,
The one about the Minor Bird in the sink,
The dark nights working in Smith Mill.
And yes of course about being silly boys with Uncle’s Jack and Bill.
Granddad, I am soon to have my 2nd child,
Of which, you will never see or hold.
But I promise you this Granddad,
My precious memories of you will be told.
Therefore, I ask of you, my cousins here present,
To do the same, remember our Granddad, Arthur his name.
Always in our hearts, love & miss you xxxx

If we could bring you back again,
For one more hour or day,
We’d express all our unspoken love;
We’d have countless things to say.
If we could bring you back again,
We’d say we treasured you,
And that your presence in our lives
Meant more than we ever knew.
Love you loads Angel...xxxxx
To Grandad,
Cant believe youre no longer here with us anymore, breaks my heart in two. Love you so much and will miss you every single day, sleep tight grandad.
